A White Tie Affair: The Metropolitan Club: New York Wedding Photography

This is one of our favorite fall events from our archives.  Rebecca & Christopher's elegant white tie wedding was a gorgeous affair.  We came in the night before for a few portraits in the park and to capture their rehearsal dinner at a private New York club.  The following day their ceremony took place at The Church of The Heavenly Rest and for their reception the couple selected  The Metropolitan Club.  Rebecca looked like royalty in her delicately embellished Carolina Herrera gown from Mark Ingram Atelier with her heirloom veil.  Her silver Jimmy Choo heels and stunning jewelry looked sophisticated with her sleek chignon which hair stylist Jason Quiin of Garren New York perfected.  Her bridesmaids look statuesque in slate gray Grecian style column gowns by Amsale Bridal and the groomsmen were dapper in white tie and tails from Baldwin Formals.  Expert event planner and florist David Beahm of David Beahm Designs transformed The Metropolitan Club into a romantic English garden vision.  Stationary by The Printery of Oyster Bay NY featured a beautiful imprinted monogram and the cake from Soutine Bakery was accented with delicate fresh wild flowers.  The Eturnity Band,  founded & lead by Antonio Alston, former drummer of James Brown, not only provided amazing vocals but created a full stage show that was spectacular.  Milestone Video Productions skillfully captured the epic night on video for the happy couple.  I was trilled to commission fellow wedding photographer Marie Papp of Marie Papp Photography to help capture this amazing event.

Rumson Country Club: A Black Tie Wedding

Both Maggie & Eric went to same parties & social events at Boston College; they spent their summer nights at the same local college bar.  Eric even saw his future bride perform on stage, however it wasn't until six years after graduation that they finally met. It was a mutual classmates wedding that brought the two together.  "Under the smoky cover of a New Jersey fog machine, we took the first of many sweet dance steps together," recalls Maggie. They hit it off and shared their first kiss while waiting in line for a hand-rolled cigar.   After a year of long distance dating Maggie finally made the move up to Boston to be with Eric.  On a West Coast trip from San Francisco to LA the couple decided to take a hike in Big Sur. A 45 minute climb and one wrong turn later and Eric got down on one knee and proposed as the sun set over the valley. For the big day the couple decided to stay near Maggie's hometown of Rumson New JerseyThe Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven was perfect for her ceremony and a tented outdoor reception at Rumson Country Club fit the black tie wedding theme.  Maggie chose a beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown from Kleinfeld Bridal with a full skirt of organza flowers paired with killer Jimmy Choo stilettos in festive silver sparkle.  Make up and Hair was done by Glen Goldbaum and a birdcage veil added a timeless elegance.  Eric chose a tasteful Brooks Brothers Tuxedo paired with evil ninja socks, a perfect pairing! Classic knee length black Alfred Sung dresses were picked or the girls.  The couples' invites were from Pauline's Papery in Red Bank. Maggie's mom Kathleen was the official "party planner" bringing in fabulous florists & event designers Craig Kiely & Darryn Murphy Designs to create soft fall table arrangements & stunning bouquets.  Their beautiful tent was brought in and set up by Sperry Tents and The All Star Dance Band from Star Talent Inc had this crowd packed on the dance floor till the early morning hour. Mr. Jeary, father of the bride, may just win our best dancer of the year award!

Trump National Golf Course Bedminster: A Wedding That's Pretty in Pink: New Jersey Wedding Photographers

When Scott met Jackie in Morristown NJ on a beautiful summer day he knew there was something special about their connection.  Five months later, the day after Thanksgiving, at Scott's family in California he decided the time was right.  A hot air balloon ride took them over beautiful scenery as he proposed, later they drove back to Scott's parents home where Jackie's parents had flown in from NJ to surprised them. For the big day Jackie went to Kleinfeld Bridal in NYC to pick out a stunning Romona Keveza gown paired with sparkly Jimmy Choo shoes and her grandmother's sapphire earrings.  Amy Jones of Sally Duvall Makeup Artistry did a wonderful job bringing out Jackie's stunning natural beauty.   Dieci Spa & Salon created a chic classic look for Jackie and her bridesmaids.   For the girls' dresses she went to Bella Bridesmaid in Madison NJ and opted for simple sheath dresses in a lovely shade of pink.  Scott & his groomsmen looked dashing in their Hugo Boss Tuxedos from Nordstrom.

Laura Grusky of Elegant Events by Laura planned this beautiful event and Zeke of Zeke Torres Films from CA came in to capture the day on video.  With the ceremony in New Vernon at The Church of Christ the King and an elegant reception at Trump National Golf Club of Bedminster it was a day to remember. Jardiniere Fine Florist of Fair Hills created the look Jackie and Scott envisioned.  Jackie chose a simple lily of the valley bouquet for herself and pink roses for the girls.   DJ Jack Bertmeo of LJ Projections provided the entertainment for the night.  A beautiful cake by Gourmet Touch Bakery was accented with pink roses and ivory orchids.  The couple drank from a traditional German marriage cup after cutting the cake.  The guests were treated with with chocolate hot air balloon favors from Enjou Chocolat in Morristown a sweet reminder of their proposal.

Gustavino's Restaurant: A Classic New York Wedding: New York Wedding Photographers

"We met at Columbia Business School at a retail networking event at JCrew. I went for career opportunities - Darren went because JCrew was offering 15% off that night and he needed to stock up on t-shirts and boxers! We were in the same class at CBS but did not meet until that evening at JCrew."

~Julie Epstein Madden

Julie & Darren we so vibrant & full of joy!  Their classic New York wedding just won our hearts.  Dressed in a chiffon layered sheath dress by Vera Wang with crystal sash and sparkly Jimmy Choo heels, Julie was the epitome of style.  The deep plum calla lilies by Ron Wendt Designs were the perfect accent and even matched Darren's tie.  For their ceremony & reception the bride and groom chose Gustavino's Restaurant under the Queensboro Bridge.  Every guest danced the night away!

Trump National Golf Club Bedminster: A Wedding to Trump! New Jersey Wedding Photographers

The last thing we expected from our delicate blond-haired blue-eyed bride, was to hear that she was a Harvard ice hockey player with a penchant for collecting rubber ducks and Jimmy Choos!  Courtney and her twinkly-eyed husband Brian met at ESPN.  She was the 'girl' in marketing and he was the 'guy' in PR.  Their first date was dinner & a U2 concert!  Almost ten years later this fun loving couple decided to take the leap. Courtney was glowing in a Liancarlo creation from Bridal Couture of Short Hills and silver peep-toed Jimmy Choo's of course.  Her bridesmaids wore one shoulder sheath dresses in a lovely shade of currant by Jenny Yoo of Jenny Yoo NYC.  The ceremony was at Christ Church in Summit NJ.  For the reception nothing else would do but the Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster.  The rolling hills and soft sunset light made a surreal backdrop heightened by bagpipers brought in to welcome the guests.  Jardiniere Fine Flowers of Far Hills created rich wine & gold arrangements and the Essence Band kept the party moving!
